What to bring to The Oaks Resort on Crow Lake
Note* : Mattresses are now fully encased in zippered vinyl mattress encasements for your protection. Bring your own mattress pads, pillows, bed linens and kitchen linens.

We have Bocce Ball, badminton racquets, washer toss and horseshoes for your enjoyment.

Vacuum-Sealed storage bags for your pillow, linens and clothing are indispensable for taking up less space in your car while travelling. We have a portable vacuum here for your use for re-packing for the trip home.

Our landfill site does not accept green garbage bags and hence, we cannot accept them from you.  Bring small clear kitchen garbage bags only. Also, please avoid bringing anything made of styrofoam as they are no longer recyclable here.

Check-in is after 3 pm on Saturdays and Check-out is by 10 am the following Saturday.

Smoking is not allowed inside the cottages.  Please dispose of butts in the appropriate containers and not on the grounds.

We have firewood for sale at $7.00/bundle (includes kindling and newspaper).

Farm-fresh eggs and rhubarb may be available but require 1-2 days advance notice.

Don’t move firewood!
Buy it locally.  Burn it on site.  Pests in your firewood can destroy our forests.  Invasive insects and diseases can exist in firewood.  Moving untreated firewood, even just a few kilometres to or from a campground or a cottage is a common way for invasive insects and diseases to spread.  These pests kill trees in our forests, cities, streets and parks which in turn affects our air and water quality, deprives animals of their habitat and reduces land value.

The emerald ash borer for example, has killed and continues to kill millions of trees. On its own it doesn’t move very far.  Hiding in firewood, though, it can travel vast distances and continue its devastation when that wood is moved by people.
