The Oaks Cottages on Crow Lake and Big City Taste in Nearby Sharbot Lake

Sharbot Lake, The Oaks Cottages on Crow Lake

The Oaks Cottages is pleased to announce the newly opened Cardinal Cafe and Shop, a beautifully transformed, century-old former Catholic church in Sharbot Lake, just a 10-minute drive away. Still in their first year of business, co-owners Nicole Tarasick and Sylvie Smith invite you to drop in, relax, visit with friends and enjoy a drink and snack on your way to run errands in Sharbot Lake or for no reason at all.

Built in 1905, this red-bricked church, having been vacant for many years, was purchased by local businessman Steve Tarasick of Tarasick Carpentry (Nicole’s father) and her partner Mike Dellios. After gutting it back to the original bricks and studs while preserving as much of its previous character as possible, it still offers some of the peaceful ambiance that it was originally designed for. Committed to bringing local, high-quality food and drink to their customers, Smith and Tarasick offer espresso-based coffee drinks, including iced and hot lattes, cappuccinos, loose-leaf teas, delicious lemonade and a fresh assortment of baked goods from Field House bakery in Perth.

As well as the great baked goods and beverages, there are further plans to offer handmade giftware from Cardinal Handmade, collections of screen printed pillows, candles and home accessories, to name a few.

Cardinal Cafe and Shop is located at 14153 Road 38 in Sharbot Lake and is open Wednesday to Friday from 7:30 AM- 4PM and Saturday and Sunday from 9AM-4PM. For more information visit cardinalhandmade.com
